This was about 2 km further along the track. You'll notice that it was a couple of hours later, and so our progress had been rather slow. This was largely due to our (mostly my) inability to even move on these bizarre skis. I mean, whats going on, they aren't even attached properly ?? ;-) I think if Tryggve (centre) hadn't been there to demostrate how good it is possible to be at this sort of skiing I would have refused to believe that this wasn't impossible. He grew up in the north of Sweden and skied to school every day in the winter, so it was all very natural to him. He wavered between bemusement and amusement at our lack of skill. I was very funny, and very tiring.
