This picture is taken from the Sky Tower, and unfortunately the glass of the observation deck makes everything look a bit blue! Mt Eden is an extinct volcano, though the field is still active any future eruptions are likely to be at a different location in the field. The Maori name is Maungawhau, 'Hill of the Whau Tree'.
